We realize that for our residents, meals offer not only nutrition,
but an opportunity to socialize. We know that memories of mealtimes at home may stimulate a wide variety
of emotions, and we do all we can to offer a calm, pleasant, social experience at each of our meals.
A Resident Food Service Committee offers suggestions and guidance to maintain a resident focus on our meal
service.
Easy-listening and classical music plays in each dining room during meal service. Volunteers from
the community and family members often join us to enhance conversation and help people unable to feed
themselves.
Dining approaches family style, with meals placed not on trays, but in individual settings for
each person. Prep areas near each pavilion’s dining room ensures that meals are served at the appropriate
temperature. The dietary staff provides tasty, nutritious meals that are tasty and nutritious, and prepare
all meals in accordance with kosher dietary laws and when appropriate, also in accordance with attending
physicians’ prescriptions for therapeutic diets.
In Spring and Summer months, we serve special outdoor meals,
barbeques and picnics in our outdoor picnic and courtyard areas.
